Everyone on our team is wearing masks while inside the building and we are requiring all people who enter our office to do so as well. Patients can remove their masks at the start of any procedure but must wear a mask anywhere outside of their operatory room.
Expectations and Guidelines
Our practice has always followed the standards of infection control very carefully but we also know people’s concerns may be elevated regarding the transmission of COVID-19. Moving through 2021, here are some of the new ways that we’re doing things.
- MASKS UP
- VIRTUAL RECEPTION
Our goal is to keep all patients as socially distanced as possible. You should remain in your vehicle and notify us via phone or text upon arrival for an appointment. We will let you know if the office entryway is clear and we are ready to seat you. Our reception room is closed for waiting with the exception of guardians or caretakers that must remain on stand-by.
- SCREENING & MITIGATION PRACTICES
Prior to any dental appointment, if you or someone you have been in close contact with is displaying potential COVID symptoms that have not been medically evaluated, please contact us. All patients are screened beforehand and/or upon entry into the office. Everyone must clean their hands with hand sanitizer when entering our office and, upon being seated, a potent, antimicrobial oral rinse is provided to kill and reduce the bioload of germs in the mouth. Patients are escorted and must wear masks when moving around the office.
- VACCINATION
As of February, 2021, Dr. Tomaszewski and everyone on our team that has been able to undergo vaccination for COVID-19 has done so.
- ENHANCED CHEMICAL DISINFECTION OF ROOMS
Biosurf is now being used along with delayed room entry between patients. Biosurf is a surface disinfectant that evaporates slowly and has been proven to be one of the most effective agents for killing all forms of germs including the H1N1 virus. A thorough “sit and soak” process of wiping all exposed surfaces is carried out and rooms are left unoccupied for an extended period of time after being disinfected.
- PPE & DISPOSABLE BARRIERSIn addition to the standard infection control practices during patient care, we now utilize added barriers that can either be discarded or more easily disinfected between patient visits.
